Sekar Jagad embodies the unity and diversity of Indonesia’s rich textile heritage. The story begins from the Nusantara archipelago that spans vast waters, connecting countless islands and cultures through the threads of textile traditions. The deep, flowing waves of the ocean embodies the trade routes that have carried fabrics and patterns across Indonesia for centuries, weaving a shared story of cultural exchange and creativity.

The water dancing celebrates the tradition and the soul of our roots. Honoring the intricate craftsmanship of nation textile design that has been passed down through generations. Where the fashion culture blooms across the country. The pattern itself, divided by threads of lines and uniting every region consist of long histories, vibrant landscapes, and flowers.

“In the process of creating these paintings, I sought to understand the meaning of it by researching the roots materials and looking at each stroke carefully. Where the landscape of colors has its own meaning and purposes and I let it guide me to find its own shape. Similar to exploring a forest to find the gems of it. The conversation of the thoughts inside happen in the middle of layers of untapped possibility and abundance of growth on canvas. The painting is created to tell its own tale and the reader will understand based on how deep they dig the layers of it. Thus the viewer can reflect and find different waves of meaning behind it.”
