Yawara Oky Rahmawati (b.1994) is a visual art artist from Tulungagung, Jawa Timur. Her works are mainly made from patchworks, woven into other textile materials on canvas. Yawara often derived inspiration from family and children, while also shedding light on environmental issues.

Textile- especially patchworks is used by Yawara due to her concern on how the materials are often easily disposed of as waste. She noticed the potential it has, particularly batik patch works, and how batik is a textile with the highest cultural and aesthetic value. Recognizing this potential, Yawara combines these “scraps”, and transform the waste onto an up-cycled artwork pieces with newfound value that calls for appreciation.
